The Dark Lane (Sombrero) Galaxy In Vigo (M104)
A Lenticular galaxy in the constellation Virgo
When I edited this image in 2024, I was inspired by a reduced halo image taken by Hubble at the time, and used it as a reference. Even back then, I thought the name "Sombrero" was no longer appropriate, but recently it seems to be starting to be called by the alternative name "Dark Lane Galaxy."
This is my first time photographing it in two years, and I was inspired by a Visible+IR blue and red image of this galaxy taken by Spitzer Telescope in 2005.
The only IR telescope set up at the observatory is the IR685, so I tried using that. I couldn't achieve the same punchy image quality as Spitzer, but I tried to add a little color to this relatively colorless galaxy.
I tried the palette about 20 times before finally settling on this.Drizzle Scale 2.0

乙女座にある楕円銀河
前回2024年編集した時は当時Hubbleが撮影したハローの部分をReduceした写真を見て刺激され、それをリファレンスにした。その時からソンブレロという名はもう違うんじゃないかと思っていたが、最近はDark Lane Galaxyという別名でも呼ばれ始めているようだ。
今回2年ぶりの撮影となるが、2005年にSpitzer望遠鏡が撮影したVisible+IRの青と赤のこの銀河の写真を見て刺激された。
観測所にセットしてあるはIRはIR685だけなのでそれで挑戦してみた。全然Spitzerのようなパンチのある画像感は全く出せなかったが、比較的色の無いこの銀河に少しだけ化粧を施してみた。
パレットは20回くらい試して結局いかに落ち着いた。Drizzle Scale 2.0でIntegration.
