Queen's Cache Cluster In Vela (NGC3228)

An open cluster in the constellation Vela.

Intrigued by the name "Queen's Cache," I tried photographing this open cluster just above the observatory wall.
As expected, because it's so low in the sky, the stars are enlarged, and the spikes are rather wavy.
I imagine it would look much better with a focal length of around 1000mm.
I discovered that about 30 minutes after it passed its highest point in the sky, I could photograph it for about 90 minutes without hitting the wall, even at this low position.
This serves as a record of the southernmost sky from the observatory.
