A section of the Milky Way northeast of Antares in the constellation Scorpius.

I've always wanted to photograph the Dark Hours Nebula. It's a large Sky Region formed by connecting dark lanes in the summer Milky Way, but it somehow resembles a horse standing up. The small S-shape next to its belly is the S Nebula.

It's also called the Snake Nebula. Perhaps it's a horse startled by a snake?

The red circle in the left center of the photo is the Trifid Nebula. The cluster of stars in the upper left is the Messier 23 Open Nebula.

This image was also heavily affected by the intense light pollution from the countless lights of a neighbor's outdoor party. While the overlap of light pollution from the east and west is unavoidable, Siril helped considerably.

I'll try again under a darker sky!!
