Usually, when I take star snapshots with my camera and lens, I move about 20mm south from here to the darkest street within walking distance, with few streetlights or house lights (Bortle 7). But my backyard looks like this, and because my neighbor's living room/dining room is open, it's always bright at night. Therefore, even with a slight difference in distance, the Bortle drops to about 8.

However, unlike remote shooting from the confines of my room, I enjoy shooting under the stars while chatting with my neighbors, so this is a comfortable environment for me.

East Pattaya is a great place to be, where once the neighbors are asleep, I can enter their house and turn off all the lights without any problems.

The landscape image is facing southeast, and the southern side of the Eta Carinae Nebula appears to pass by the "stationary weather vane" atop the white tower of the central house. It took about 10 minutes with a 300mm focal length. Other than that, everything was OK until I hit the mysterious pole of the house next door and the power lines it's attached to.

The second photo is from a different angle to photograph the Eta Carinae Nebula.

The third photo is from a different angle to photograph the Rosette Nebula. This angle in the western sky after it has passed meridian is quite difficult to photograph as there is a lot of interference from electric lights. I think I'll wait until everyone is asleep before taking my photo.

For polar alignment, I used 3PA in the southeastern sky, as the northern sky is obscured by mobile phone towers and the giant Tree of God.

East Pattaya自宅のBackyardの撮影場所の雰囲気

普段カメラとカメラレンズで星のスナップを撮るときは、ここから20mmくらい南に移動して街灯や家の電灯が少ない徒歩圏内で最も暗い路上で撮影してるが（Bortle7位）、家のBackyardはこんな感じでお隣の居間兼ダイニングがオープンに作られてるので、夜はずーっと明るい。よって僅かな距離の違いだがBortle8くらいまで落ちてしまう。

でもリモートで家の部屋に引きこもって撮影するのとは違い、わいわいがやお隣さんと話しながら星の下での撮影も好きなので、これはこれで自分的には気に入った環境である。

お隣さんが寝静まれば、勝手に家に入って全ての電気を消したりしても問題無いのがEast Pattayaだったりする。

風景画像は南東方向を写してるが、中心の家の白い塔の上にある「動かない風見鶏」のところをEta Carinae星雲の南側が通る感じ。焦点距離300mmで10分くらいかな。そこ以外は隣の家の謎の張り出し棒と張り出し棒の引かれてる電線ににぶつかるまでOK。

2枚目はEta Carinae星雲の撮影角度。

3枚目はばら星雲の撮影角度。南中を超えてからの西の空のこの角度は電灯の影響がかなり多くて撮影は厳しい。寝静まるのを待ってからの撮影方向かな。

極軸合わせは、北の空は携帯の電波塔や巨大な神様の木があり見えないので、南棟の空で3PAで行っている。
