A galaxy cluster in Hydra.
The Subaru Telescope also photographed this area, and I was so impressed by the two beautiful bright galaxies I took this photo.
There's a bright, red 4.8-magnitude star at the top of this image, and I initially wanted to include it in the composition, but the star's light was too strong for the 4.8-magnitude star, resulting in the photo's center being the center of the image. Consequently, I trimmed the 4.8-magnitude star, significantly reducing the number of galaxies. The big galaxy in the center is NGC3312, and the smaller galaxy below it is NGC3314. Both are members of this galaxy cluster.
NGC3312 and NGC3314 are jellyfish galaxies, with legs extending from the center.
NGC3312 is difficult to see in this photo, but NGC3314 is clearly visible.
NGC3314 is said to be two galaxies overlapping, but this photo makes it completely indistinguishable.
Also, the two galaxies are not interacting; they merely appear to overlap.
I couldn't tell even from the Subaru photo.
What is of interest is the crab-claw shaped object northeast of NGC3312, which appears to be two galaxies (PGC 753342, PGC 753354) close together.

うみへび座にある銀河団

すばる望遠鏡もここを撮影していて、明るい二つの銀河が綺麗だったので撮ってみた。

この写真の上に明るい赤い4.8等星があり、最初はそれを入れた構図にしたかったが、4.8等星のパワーには勝てず、星の光芒が中心になってしまう写真になってしまった。よって4.8等星の部分はTrimingしてしまったので大幅に銀河の数も減ってしまった。中心にある大きい銀河がNGC3312、その下の小さな銀河がNGC3314。ともにこの銀河団のメンバーだ。

NGC3312とNGC3314はくらげ型銀河とよばれる中心から足のようなものが伸びてる銀河だ。

NGC3312の方はこの写真では分かりづらいが、NGC3314ははっきり見える。

NC3314銀河は２つの銀河が重なってさっているそうだが、この写真ではさっぱり判らない。

またその２つの銀河は相互作用をしているわけではなく、見かけ上重なっているだけだそうだ。

スバルの写真でも判別できなかった。

気になるのがNGC3312の北東にあるカニの爪の形をした天体だが、2つの銀河（PGC 753342,PGC 753354）が近接しているようだ。
