Night Sky Photos In Rain Season

I went out to the back street late at night and looked up at the sky, and I could see stars between the clouds.

To be honest, I thought it would be nice to capture even one star, even if there were clouds or light pollution, so I took out my Sony ZV-E10

I bought second-hand from a young man in Bangkok the other day

and my TTArtisan 35mm F0.95

I was selling for 20% off in a store promotion, and put them on a tripod to take a test shot.

70% of the sky was covered with clouds, but I could see stars occasionally between the clouds around Scorpio,

so I aimed for that and took a shot.

It wasn't a "work" that could reach the level of Star  field photography, it was just a photo of the night sky, but I was happy that the stars were captured in it.

After looking at the photo after stacking, I didn't think it was at a level where I could finish it into a work of art, so I processed the background with Auto, did some simple color matching, deconvolution, and finally stretched it, resulting in a simple night sky photo.

The clouds have a large effect on the lens' performance when it comes to stars, but there is a lot of coma at F0.95. This would be there even if there were no clouds. You can't tell the fringes or halos unless you look at it on a clear sky.

The camera was limited to ISO400 due to light pollution, but I feel that it has enough functions and performance to take starry sky photos with a short focal length.

The reasons I bought the ZV-E10 are as follows.

(1) Bright monitor
(2) ASCOM compatible
(3) USB power supply (not only charging but also power supply)
(4) Interval shooting function without using an app
(5) Vari-angle monitor

Recently, Fuji and OM have cameras that have the same function as the bright monitor, which allows you to see dark places with Live View, but they are expensive cameras.
The Fuji XA7 that I own does not have this function, so I can only see 1st magnitude stars to about 2nd magnitude stars even in places without light pollution. It is very difficult to decide the star to focus on and the angle of view.
Pentax's KP is not as good as Bright Monitor, but you can see stars in Live View.
Sony's A7Sii does not have a function called Bright Monitor, but you can see almost the same image in Live View as the one you took with the ISO and exposure time you set. In twilight, you can see the dark parts of the summer Milky Way in Live View.

Sony ZV-E10
