The Retina Nebula (IC4406)

The sky opened up for the first time in a month.

I've hardly been able to photograph galaxies this year, so I want to aim for one, but with the current settings, it's impossible to guide the 2000mm focal length. I want to go to the observatory, but I can't move because of the New Year's holidays and other factors, so I'm stuck. What's more, the cooled camera won't cool at all today for some reason. It's at 100% power at 25 degrees Celsius, and it won't cool below that. Another cooled camera with the same power supply system is fine, so it must be a problem with the camera, not the power supply.

I wonder if insects have made a nest and can't ventilate? I'd like to go to the observatory next week and do some maintenance.

So today, as with Omega Centauri last time, I aimed for a bright target low in the south where no stars were streaming for 30 seconds with No Guide.

The Retina planetary nebula in Lupus, just east of Omega Centauri. The name retina sounds scary, but this nebula photographed by NASA/ESO certainly looks like a retina, with many fine filaments running through it. Unfortunately, there is no trace of the retina in the photos I took.
However, there are amateurs who have photographed filaments, so it may be possible to capture the retina if we take the time.
