The Fornax A, B Galaxy (ろ座の銀河 A,B) NGC1316,1317

This is also a galaxy that I have been dying to photograph for some time, but with the previous Backyard, the pollution in this direction was so severe that I could only photograph the center.

I thought the larger A was more round, but it turned out to be an distorted oval shape with many dark bands in the center, making it a very fun target.
Apparently, the reason for its oval shape is that it has repeatedly merged with other galaxies.
Next time I'd like to take a close-up photo of the center.

これも以前から撮りたくてたまらない銀河であったが、以前のBackyardではこの方向の公害が激しく中心部程度しか写らななかった。

大きい方のAはもっと丸い形と思っていたら歪な卵形で、しかも中心部には何本もの暗黒帯がありなかなか楽しいTargetだった。

どうも卵形の理由は何回も他の銀河との合体を繰り返したことが原因なのだとか。

次回は中心部をUpして撮影して見たいな。
